Description: Early Verge Fusee pocket watch is quite stunning. All hinges are good and closes as it should. The gilt paire cases have some of the gilding present, and the outer case is covered in green shagreen. IN very good condition. Theouter case measures 48mm diameter. Inner case has the inscription "I.H. died Feb 10th, 1837, aged 85. The very fine giltverge fusee movement is in great funning order and keeping good "verge time" signed "Jas.Pearson-London and is numbered. Protecting the steel balance a finely engraved and pierced piece wide footed balanced cock. The pierced and engraved decoration continues around the silver disc regulator. early watch with baluster pillars. The white porcelian dial is in good condition with no apparent chips or cracks. Roman Numeral numbering and probably original hands. Watch has been wound and works. I'm not sure how well it keeps time. But after 10 minutes watch was still ticking. This is an extremely rare antique watch. We purchased this beautiful piece from England over 15 years ago and have been kept in a case ever since. Please see all photos before purchasing.
