Description: G SCALE SAWMILL / LUMBER DEPOT This fully assembled, weather resistant sawmill is built to approximately 1:24 scale, but it would also work well with slightly larger or smaller operations, such as 1:20.3 and 1:29. This structure is made for, and would also work well with, some indoor gauges such as the old American Flyer wide gauge, or the Lionel, Marx and MTH standard gauge trains. This sawmill fits, and would also make a great display for your Franklin Mint, Danbury Mint, and other 1:24 die cast cars and trucks. The sawmill itself is about 29" long by 14" deep and stands 16 3/4" tall. The log tram extension adds about another 14" to the overall length. Built from solid Western Red Cedar, this structure has been and assembled with galvanized fasteners and waterproof adhesives throughout. If used outdoors, this structure will weather and become more realistic looking over time. The naturally rot resistant Cedar exterior will eventually weather to a soft, driftwood grey, and the log tram rails will rust. If used indoors, the color won't change much, although the freshly milled Cedar will naturally darken slightly over the years. Outdoor use during extreme weather or in particularly harsh conditions is not recommended. Detailed doors and windows with acrylic window panes are all fixed in place and do not open. The saw blade is also fixed in place and does not turn or operate. Corrugated aluminum roof sheds water just like the real thing and has been painted for the look of rusting galvanized steel. Perfect for diesel or steam layouts of any era. Structure includes 3 - miniature wooden pallets, 3 - miniature gears, 2 - oak barrels, 1 - tool box, 9 - logs ( including 1 permanently mounted to the log tram, several pieces of lumber, 1 - bucket, and 2 sets of steps.
