Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) SM/AE For your consideration is an Empire B30 Electric Live Steam Engine made in the USA in the 1930s.The B30 was the most popular engine produced by Empire. It is very sturdy with a cast iron base, heavy gauge copper and bronze. This vintage/antique Live Steam Engine has been fully restored to a beautiful condition.Originally, the B30 was chromed but this one was brushed to the gorgeous solid copper base ; it has a beautiful patina.It has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam. Sometimes, an older gasket has dried up, needing replacement. Hopefully, that won't be the case. The heating element warms up using the (newer) electric cord that is provided.It is complete.Except for the identification plate that is a printed reproduction, it is all original, which is rare.There is a very small (very small indeed) dent on the back of the boiler (photo). That was 65 years ago. I have been collecting them for 25 years and I am now 74. None of my descendants is interested in the collection, so I decided that it was time to liquidate. As of January 2025, I still have over 1,200 engines of all kinds to list. I believe in full disclosure. It takes me about an hour to list one item, between the assessment, the testing, the video, the photos, the description and the very careful packaging. I try to have very reasonable prices.
