Description: With only a paper inventory label sewn into the seam, this beauty is a remarkable unsolved mystery. Probably late 30s, silk velvet, side snap (replaced) closure, square neckline, trimmed in ecru lace (some discoloring, see photos) dotted with rhinestones, 3/4 sleeves and a full flowing dramatic hem sweep measuring 160 inches (over 13 feet), this beauty is cleaned and in excellent vintage condition for a velvet over 80 years or age. You be the judge. Jet black, some photos augmented to show drape and sheen. Close-ups of lace trim included. So very soft to the touch. Dry Cleaned and steamed (from the inside only). Meant to fall and drape dramatically (and it does) this dress/gown measures (seam to seam measurements): bust to 36, waist to 28, hips to 40, length 60, shoulder to shoulder 18, sleeve length from shoulder 15, hem sweep is a generous 160 inches.
