Description: This auction is for two French-language softcover anthology books showcasing a number of indie and more alternative-oriented French comics artists. Lapin #41 published by L'Association (2010, 208 pages) is an issue of the one of the most important alternative comics magazines in France which launched the careers of many well-known comics artists. This issue is from later in the run and features work by cartoonists like Baladi, Anne Simon, Geneviève Castrée, and Nicolas Mahler. Pandora #1 (Casterman) was published by one of the larger mainstream French publishers, but feels like their attempt to do a "Lapin" style anthology. This one has more of an international feel with cartoonists from around the world. It includes work by people such as Bastien Vivès, Art Spiegelman, Brecht Evens, Katsuhiro Otomo, Loustal, Blutch, and Lorenzo Mattotti. Both books have some light wear from reading, storage, and shipment, but are in generally good used condition. There is a price tag on Lapin and a little smudging on the cover of Pandora. Even if you don't read French, these are beautiful books to buy and appreciate if you are a fan of international comic art. Reasonable offers considered. Please see my other auctions for more books and comics. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases.
