Classic design featuring 6 shell shape wells for oysters and one center well for lemon or sauce. Made in France in famous Quimper workshop known now among collectors for their beautiful vintage majolica creations with colourful paintings in traditional for Brittany region of France. Signed "Quimper" and "HB". This piece is dating back to around 1920-1940. Henriot Quimper ceramics are known for their unique hand-painted designs that often feature traditional Breton imagery, such as local peasants in regional dress, floral patterns, and landscapes from the surrounding Brittany region. This distinct style, known as "Faïence de Quimper," reflects the cultural pride and traditions of Brittany, and each piece is hand-painted, making them one-of-a-kind. HB stands for Henriot-Bousquet, referencing the Henriot factory in Quimper. This mark has been used in the late 19th century. While letters and numbers correspond to designs and pattern numbers. Dimensions:Diameter of each plate: about 9" / 24 cm, weight 455 grams / 16 oz Condition: Very good antique condition. Some slight areas of wear off to glazing. A few areas with glaze surface crazing.
