This 17mm black oxide coated slider type 4130 chromoly spindle is being offered with 2 stainless steel bolts and 2 stainless steel washers. This spindle being offered is machined to be compatible with bearings that have a 17mm I.D. This 17mm. spindle being offered has been machined/produced because of the many people asking me for it over the years. I am introducing this OD sized spindle for the 2nd time. The 1st go round has been a success. This OD spindle was used on bottom brackets for a brief period of time in the late 80's - early 90's on frames produced by the possible brand names such as Fat Chance, Fisher, Klein, Crupi, Merlin, Profile, Torker ....(and possibly others) to name a few. The common bearing used by frame manufactures during this time period for a 17mm spindle used the 6003 2RS bearing.....which have the following specs 35mm OD x 17mm ID x 10mm. Bearings are NOT included with the sale of the spindle in this auction. Depending on how this little endeavor goes......this OD sized spindle may or may not be offered again. If you want it now.....now is your chance. These spindles for 17mm bearings do not come up very often for the bottom brackets on frames from 30 + years ago. This ISO square taper spindle being offered will be compatible with all cranks that have the same reverse ISO square taper. I have received a lot of inquiries over the years regarding the interchangeability between ISO and JIS tapered spindles. I have provided the following link in reference to this issue.
