Description: Up for sale is an extremely rare Tumbling Lunar Monster. This toy was produced in the 1960’s in Hong Kong and is a classic example of the Hong Kong plastic toy manufacturing industry that thrived prior to the opening up of China. The toy has a rattle sound when shaken similar to a children’s rattle. It returns to upright when pushed (like a Weeble). It is around 3.5”(8cm) tall. Before you choke on my asking price, please note that the last one to sell on Ebay (2023) sold for $999 US (that one did have the original box)! Condition – This figure has a few scratches here and there. I would note a few significant ones on his forehead. A section of the red base has discolouration and a roughness to it (this possible might actually be from a lack of quality control in production - see last picture). Note, the silver overspray on his backpack is actually a product of poor quality control from the factory in the 1960’s (see second last picture). Unfortunately I do not have the original box.
