Description: This is a really nice, bluesy soul jazz record. A former member of Ray Charles' band, Newman wrote his own compositions as well as putting together an interesting selection of covers--from the romantic French classic "I Wish You Love" to Bob Dylan's "Just Like A Woman." Though not as well known as Stan Getz, Newman has a similarly soulful, mellifluous sound. This is a good, clean listening copy of an underrated record--just enjoy.
