Description: This week, I’m auctioning off some choice examples of comic book and comic strip original art. There should be something for everyone here. The syndicated comic strip "Dateline: Danger!" by John Saunders and Al McWilliams ran from 1968 to 1974, and was an espionage adventure strip notable for featuring the first African-American lead character in comic strip history. The strip was action packed and very well illustrated. At its peak, it appeared in hundreds of newspapers daily. The strip is still fondly remembered. Here I have a daily strip dated November 21, 1972, measuring a whopping 6 1/2 x 19. It's in great shape and is a nice example of this series. (note that the line running through the middle panel is not in the original, as it's caused by my joining two photocopies. I've included a large scan of that middle panel as it actually appears).
