Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away - is something that you've never seen before: a custom-painted M1 in a NET-LIKE patriotic camo pattern. Further details are listed below:Details: Unlike most folks who sell "custom painted" SHELLS without the liners, this helmet is complete. This guy is one-of-a-kind and I will NEVER paint another one like it again! Most "artists" paint the same basic designs over and over again (ARVN emblems, Medic crosses, Band of Brothers units, etc.), but once I'm finished with a lid, it's colors and pattern (as a combo) are retired FOREVER, so each one is unique. It's one-and-done, folks! Without further adieu, here are all of the details:SHELL: It's an M1 Euro-clone lid, made by an Austrian company. (What... you didn't think that I would "defile" an genuine AMERICAN shell, did ya? That's just CRAZY talk, man). The paint job is not meant to look professional - it's meant to appear 'amateur...ish'. To get that net effect, I used, well, a net. Then some spray paint. And a little more spray paint. And a lit... you get the idea. As a finishing touch it has multiple layers of clear coating for protection. (Now, that being said: don't drop it on concrete or use it for air-soft battles!) I spent MANY hours designing & making this guy, but I have others in various stages of completion and I'm running out of room in my M1 collection, so I need to sell it. I'm looking for someone who appreciates it as much as I do. By the way, I've been custom-painting various objects for 30 years (just for gits & shiggles). This isn't my first rodeo, folks... it's done the RIGHT way. (Side note: The colors are medium red and white over a medium blue base. Some folks are color blind and monitors vary, after all.) LINER: This one is made from green plastic and is an Austrian 'Euro-clone'. It fits perfectly into the lid and has both the nape strap and headband (the latter is for a PASGT helmet, as the liner didn't have a band when I bought it. 80's PASGT bands are all I have in my spare parts bin, but are very similar to standard M1 bands). It's in excellent shape, but not mint condition. FLAWS: One side has slightly more red on it than the other. If you look at the top on the shell in the first pic, you can see what I mean. The other pics make it look worse because of the angle of my camera. Sorry! IN CONCLUSION: It was a labor of love and not meant to be sold for a profit. After all the paint, shipping, fees, and raw materials, I'm barely breaking even. Not to mention all the TIME it took. Again, it's not "professionally" painted (i.e. robot, machine, or AI), so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds.
