Cockerel Stamped Copper Saucepan Antique Dehillerin 24cm-9.5 inch Diameter 6.5lb

Description: An antique copper saucepan, with the famous Cockerel stamp to the right of the handle. The Cockerel stamp is commonly associated with the renown French copper cookware seller Dehillerin but it has a much lengthier history. The Cockerel stamp can be traced back to the coppersmith Charmois in 1871, before it was bought up by Lasiner in 1888 before it was acquired by Dehillerin in 1908. I've added several links below that provide additional information on the Cockerel stamp as well as the above mentioned names but regardless of who owned rights to the famous stamp, this copper saucepan is an antique piece of French copperware history! Outside of the Cockerel stamp, there are no other obvious manufacturer markings or stamps on this saucepan, although there is what appears to be a smaller rooster or Cockerel like stamp under the larger more prominent stamp. This could just be me seeing something that isn't there though. This copper saucepan also has a sturdy wrought iron handle, with three copper rivets, and a clean tin lining.
