As quirky as Circa is, there's no question that such offerings as "Julie's Blanket," "Venus Loves Leonard" and "Abalone Blues" groove in a delightfully rockin' fashion. The band often inspires comparisons to punkers/roots rockers X, and in fact, vocalists Julie Ritter and Gretchen Seager both have an Exene-ish quality to their singing.
