Please inspect photos carefully: Upon a thorough inspection, we were only able to find oneworn area with a hole on a blank page in the front of the 2nd volume (see photo). Originally published in 1848, The Forty Five by French writer Alexandre Dumas, was written between 1847 and 1848and set in 1585 and 1587 during the French Wars of Religion. It is the third and final work of Dumas' Valois trilogy,and tells the story of Diane de Meridor's quest for revenge upon the Duke of Anjou. The books each measure 7 7/8" x approximately 5 1/4" x approximately 1 1/2".The 2- volume set weighs just under 3 pounds. Thank you for your consideration.
