Description: Original old & very unusual cdv photo of a Prattware or Liverpool type china jug/ pitcher. The photo was taken by A. H Wildman of Monticello, Illinois. The photo would date circa 1870's-1880's. The jug shown would date much earlier. I am not sure of the exact correct name for this particular type of jug/ pitcher. This photo with mount measures 4 1/4 inches long by 2 7/16 inches wide. The design on the jug/ pitcher shows two ships & an possibly unknown admiral? It is very unusual to find a cdv photo of a piece of English china. It is additionally even far more unusual to find a cdv photo of a piece of English china taken by an American photographer. The photo has some age soiling & small light brown age spots & a tiny circular dark spot near the top. The reference number for this item is #1895.
