Description: Bravingtons Wetrista Oyster Water Proof 1940s Vintage Mens Watch, Scarce (BX218) Please see photographs for condition and size - the pictures form an important part of the description. Very unusual and scarce watch for the collectors, I have spent a bit of time trying to find a similar example but I cannot locate one past or present. The watch winds and is working keeping good time, but you have to wind it a few times before it starts going or it will stop, this may indicate the mainspring needs replacing. The design has clearly taken inspiration from the Oyster. The case is signed on the back (see pictures) but every other Bravingtons watch you see has either the Dennison or Borgel case and this is something totally different and unusual. The movement also has early shockproofing. A fine piece for the collector, unaware of service history and service may be needed.
