Description: This is an amazing example of a contemporary Bhutanese made burl wood bowl. I met the couple who makes these by hand. A Tibetan gentleman and his Bhutanese wife, they came to Dharamshala to attend teachings from the Dalai Lama and would bring their bowls to sell at the temple to help pay for their trip. The first time I met them, they sold out the first day, but I asked them to bring one next time with some “very wild looking wood” for me, and this is the one. It has never been used, in excellent condition. Solid burled, flamed, quilted, and birds eye maple all in one bowl. It’s exquisite. 5 1/2” across and 2 1/2” high, it is a perfect size for an altar.
