Description: This is a custom 12" figure commemorating a very unique character from an interesting TV series, Turn, Washington's Spies. The series originally aired on AMC 4-6-14 thru 8-12-17. You can sometimes find this series on one of the streaming channels. This is a custom figure of Benjamin Tallmadge played in the series by Seth Numrich. Turn is a tv series based on the first spy ring (the Culper Ring) formed in the United States which happened during the Revolutionary War. Washington's forces felt a need for intelligence gathering so they could hope to defeat the British forces. Washington enlisted the aid of Benjamin Tallmadge (one of his officers) and some of Tallmadge's childhood friends primarily Abraham Woodhull and Robert Townsend. The spy ring was called the Culper Ring due to the code names of Woodhull (Samuel Culper Sr.)and Townsend (Samuel Culper Jr.). The Ring's purpose was to inform General Washington of British troop movements. The Culper Ring primarily worked in New York, Long Island, and Connecticut. The Ring was so secret that Washington himself did not know who the spies were. In fact the general public did not find out until the 1930's when a trunk of old letters were discovered in the Townsend family home. The TV series Turn is very well done and worth the watch if you like history or just to watch a good story. PLEASE NOTE-While this figure does not look exactly like Talmadge or Numrich there is a bit of resemblance. ALSO NOTE- this figure does have a faux ponytail see pics. This figure is designed mainly for display purposes for the history or TV fan. This would make a nice addition to any collection. sold as is. Please note the following-when a figure is a custom figure that means it is not a licensed product,or "official" but something the customizer did by combining figures and accessories from different makers and toy releases to come up with the custom figure or figures. I started customizing figures a few years back because I couldn't find more than a handful of "official" releases and unable to find figures of people I wanted to collect. I checked in to the market of custom figures. Most of the custom figures available back then cost several hundred dollars, so, I started doing my own. Because I needed to support my new hobby, I started selling some custom figures. My prices reflect my acquisition cost, time involved, and some profit. Thanks for the look, have fun shopping!Shipping and Handling as follows: Domestic-priority mail- $15.00 1st item, $8.00 each additional item. items are normally shipped out within a day or two of cleared payment.
