Bena Virginia Frank Mayer (1900-1994) 20th Century New York Modernist best known for portrait and landscape paintings Original signed oil painting on canvas Titled "Saratoga Horses" Canvas: 28"x 36" Signed lower left--see photos Signed and titled verso--see photos Looks good/fair, in original "as found" untouched condition, old canvas patches, surface grime, stretcher bar marks, edge wear and losses to canvas corners, canvas needs re-stretching, unframed--please look at photos carefully. Great looking composition by Bena V.F. Mayer depicting a Modernist style view of the Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. Opened in 1863, it is often considered to be the oldest major sporting venue of any kind in the country, but is actually the fourth oldest racetrack in the U.S. This is a fine example of Mayer's work with a fantastic subject. My price of $899 is extremely reasonable and far below what one would be expected to pay for it in a gallery or at auction. Please check out the other artwork in our store on ebay. We regularly feature newly acquired artwork, from antique and vintage to contemporary and modern. Select the "See other items" tab on our page. Always buying Artwork-Cash Paid- easily find us at EastCoastArtGallery on the internet, instagram and facebook.
