Taken by the renowned Hollywood photographer Alex Kahle (his signature is in the lower right corner), he is depicted in an interior studio shot and wearing a hat, this photograph was inscribed by Barry Norton thusly: A warm hello, - Barry Norton. Barry Norton was born on June 16, 1905 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was an actor, known for The Wizard (1927), The Sea Fiend (1936) and Dishonored (1931). He died on August 24, 1956 in Hollywood, California. This boyishly handsome Argentine-born leading man of Hollywood silents (from 1926), he was also a talented ballroom dancer. His career diminished in talking films despite the fact that he had no discernible accent, but he scored in Spanish-language versions of Hollywood films, his most famous being that of Juan Harker in the Spanish-language version of Universal Pictures' Dracula (1931). The Spanish-language version of Dracula was filmed on the same sets and at the same time as the English-language version starring Bela Lugosi. The English-language version was filmed during the day and the Spanish-language version (directed by George Melford) was filmed at night. The Spanish-language version runs nearly a half-hour longer than the English-language version.
