Description: Here is an outstanding Art Deco figural trinket or pin tray in the form of a reclining Egyptian nude with bird head or serpent. Acquired from a fine several generation estate in Maryland, the figure is 13” long and weighs over 5 pounds – it is impressive. The piece is iron I am assuming, a magnet sticks, and it has a wonderful old patina. Unsigned, I believe it dates to the 1920-30s - it is one of my favorite objects. I have seen similar, and quite appealing, figures over the years but in reflection they all seemed like toys when I encountered this wonderful example. A serious piece of figural Art Deco.
