Description: c.1860 Civil War Era Antique Civilian Lightweight Linen Sack Coat Duster 3 pockets with 3 original mother of pearl buttons. The garment is in original condition from a clean smoke-free multigenerational New England farm dating back to the late 1700's. The delicate garment spent most of its life sealed in a trunk full of other clothes and has very little wear and damage for what it is. The coat shows no dry rot, some staining and one area of small holes in the front lower right as pointed out. The coat has not been cleaned and has no signs of previous repairs. For sizing reference I am 5, 10" tall and 185lbs Overall a beautiful museum quality piece. in original condition.
