Description: Antique Wedgwood IVANHOE Flow Blue LARGE RIM BOWL Wamba & Gurth the Swineherd Approximate Measurements: 9.75” x 1.5” Weight ~ 1 lb 1.5 oz This bowl is titled "Wamba & Gurth the Swineherd". The bowl has an elaborate border made up of a variety of birds including turkeys, chickens, geese and partridges along with fish and a pair of rabbits, all of which are set amongst flowers and foliage. The border also includes 6 cartouches with images of characters from Ivanhoe: "Lady Rowena", "Coeur de Lion", "The Templar", "Rebecca", "Isaac of York", and "Wamba". The back of the piece is stamped with the letter "F" in cobalt blue and is also impressed with maker name "WEDGWOOD" along with “CCK”. This is early Wedgwood Ivanhoe which was discontinued about 1900 but exact time period undetermined.
