Description: Antique Wedgwood Ivanhoe (Blue Gray Design) Platter & Plates Pattern Description: Not Flow Blue, Gray/Blue Scene & Décor. Discontinued A fabulous design printed in blue grey with the central view surrounded by a delightful border of geese, hares, turkeys chickens, fish and partridge with portrait insets of key figures in the Ivanhoe tale on the rim. These pieces are from the 1880's and 1890's. See specific item description for condition and dates. Each Plater or plate is priced individually. I have the following items from this blue/gray collection available: * 1 - 16" Oval Serving Platter, "Prince John Bandying Words with Locksley". 16-7/8" Length x 14-1/4" Width. Backstamps: Impressed Wedgwood stamp with the impressed mark of "WVL" over "A". This WVL is the date code for the piece's manufacture: the first letter of the code represents the month of manufacture, the second identified the potter who threw the shape and the last letter signifying the year the piece was made starting with O for 1860. In the case of this piece, W=August and L=1883. Thus, this piece dates to August of 1883. Excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. The gloss is great! There is heavy tiny crazing throughout the front and back, adding to the antique look! Light staining and shelf wear to the sole. * 1 - Dinner Plate, "Friar Tuck Entertains the Black Knight". 10-1/8" Width. Backstamps: This piece has a printed blue "IVANHOE WEDGWOOD ETRURIA ENGLAND" mark in addition to the Impressed Wedgwood stamp. Finally there is an impressed date mark that seems illegible. With "England" included in the printed stamp it was likely manufactured after 1891. Excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. The gloss is great! There is moderate tiny crazing on the back. * 1 - Luncheon Plate, "Rebecca Give a Purce of Money to Gurth". 9-1/4" Width. Backstamps: This piece has a printed blue "IVANHOE" and "E" marks. In addition to the impressed "WEDGWOOD" mark there is an impressed date mark that may have the last letter of "K" indicating a date of manufacture of 1882. Excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. The gloss is great! There is heavy tiny crazing and staining throughout the front and back. Light shelf wear to the sole.
