Description: There are dozens of autographs on both sides with personal messages. Some of the autographs are dated 1904, 1905, 1906, and 1909. They are German or Hungarian and not yet translated. The sandalwood fan measures 9 inches long closed and 16 1/2 inches open. It was a trend at the yearly Wagner festivals in Bayreuth Germany in the late 1800s to early 1900s to get signatures and messages from famous musicians on sandalwood fans like this. Some of the silk ribbon has come apart. Otherwise in very good condition with dozens of visible autographs and messages on both sides. There is no water damage and the sandalwood is in excellent antique condition.
