Description: Antique Rock Crystal Clear Quartz Pools Of Light Necklace. Victorian Necklace Circa 1830s-1901. This necklace is spectacular with twenty-one 15mm water-clear undrilled Pools of Light Rock Crystals, measuring a total of 18.5" long. Note some longer necklaces contain less orbs and more links. The gems are arranged much closer on this piece with thick sturdy links, creating a much more attractive appeal. They drape beautifully along the neckline, glowing magically like clear orbs of water while showcasing the ornate floral motif bands. Pools of light are formed where the orbs rest against the skin or any surface hence the name(Pools of Light). These natural Crystals are almost free of imperfections and impurities and as such are said to have Good energy and healing properties. The Victorians who were aware of this theory sought to create pieces wrapped in wire or Floral motiifs as shown on this piece. The Orbs were not drilled so that they retain this good energy. All the orbs are securely in place while the piece finishes with a later added spring ring clasp as shown in photos. This gorgeous over 100 year old necklace encapsulates the beauty of Victorian Rock Crystal jewelry and creates a mesmerizing appeal when worn. Measurements Weighs 4.3 ounces. Total length of necklace is about 18.5 inches with clasp. Rock Crystal Orbs are about 15 mm. No hallmarks. Necklace closes with a later added secure spring ring clasp.
