Description: Purchased by my grandparents in 1910 in China, but was sold as VTG at that time. I believe my grandmother used it for powder, but today could be used for anything. I believe it is of the Quing dynasty (ended in 1911) and made 1800-1899, but I have no official documentation. I am not an appraiser, but was told this by a Chinese colleague. I have seen what looks exactly the same (carving and subject) listed for $1,500. on 1st Dibs, but cannot verify exactly same so selling for bargain at more than 1/2 price. A perfect acquisition for a collector or just someone who loves such items. This is a fine antique Chinese red cinnabar lacquer lidded rounded box carved with a scene with what appears to be a seated "student" and a seated sage within a rocky landscape with trees and mountains. The "dragon's blood" box has a fine diamond pattern design around the sides with a black lacquered interior and base. Exc. cond. with exception of small chip at base. Very clean. Condition compatible with age.Carving is exceptional unlike newer similar items. See photos and enlarge as needed. No repairs. Measures 4 in across and 1 3/4 tall. Non smoking, non pet homeShipped USPS. No returns. Cleaning out
