A beautiful antique French Black Forest cuckoo clock dating to circa 1870. The clock comprises of a chiselled bronze frame decorated with intricate foliate details. Demonstrating the finest quality of craftsmanship, the dial features individual heart shaped enamel cartouches housing black Roman numerals and is decorated to the centre is decorated with an ormolu motif. The original twin train movement is present, striking the hours and half hours on a bell. The clock comes complete with its winding key. Approximate dimensions: 53 cm high x 31 cm wide Approximate weight: 6.5 KG Condition: Overall, the clock is in good condition. The clock has a clean movement and has recently been serviced. The gilding is also in good condition.
