Description: Antique c1878 Elkington & Co ~ St Michael Slaying the Devil Wall Plaque ~ A stunningly detailed rare cast copper Victorian Elkington & Co plaque after Léonard Morel-Ladeuil that seldomly come up for sale. The image depicting the battle between the Archangel Michael and the fallen angel Lucifer. Signed Morel-Ladeuil 1878 and Elkington. Beautiful old quality made with a good weight of 1.029 kilos unwrapped. The plaque is in good condition with superb patina and totally original.Has a little dent on the left outer edge with an old repair to the Devils spear point as shown.Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age....All nothing major,but noted. Has minor rubbing,tarnishing etc. All photos taken outside in good daylight.This plaque overall measures 13.5"/ 34.5 cms across by 13" / 33cms tall.Has some minor wear and tear commensurate with age and use.
