Description: Andrey Kharitonov Swirl Brandy Handmade Briar Pipe, New Andrey Kharitonov Swirl Brandy Handmade Briar Pipe, New Andrey Kharitonov is, to my eye, one of the most innovative artisans in pipe-making today. Born in 1961 in the former Soviet Union, Kharitonov’s work has been inspired by a number of his compatriots in the artisan scene, such as Victor Yashtylov, Misha Revyagin, and Alexey Kharmalov. Like the latter, Kharitonov frequently experiments with novel shapes, textures, and stains, creating pipes that are instantly recognizable as his making. There really is no one quite like Andrey Kharitonov when it comes to pipe design. This one, for example, blends elements of the Rhodesian, the brandy, and even strong-jawed modern classics such as Castellos 55 or Sasienis Moreton, with a twisted swirling geometry carefully carved into the top section of its bowl. This, combined with a cumberland accent and a lava-like ebonite stem makes for one of the most unique pipes Ive seen in a long time.
