Ancient Greek Intaglio Ring Seal Greco-Roman Carnelian Gemstone Artifact Relic 6

Description: This listing is for a small gemstone, which was hand-carved by a craftsman in Ancient Greece to be used as in Intaglio Seal. In the days before paper and ink were widely available, people would often wear a piece of jewelry with a unique emblem cut into the stone, which could then be stamped into wax or clay as a type of signature. A stamped seal would be used for business agreements, personal correspondence, and other forms of communication or documentation. The small size of this piece means it was likely set in a woman's ring. This particular gemstone measures approximately 15 mm across. It's a red, textured stone, likely sardonyx or agate. The carving portrays an armored warrior. This piece was obtained in an auction by Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles - one of the most trusted authenticators/auctioneers in the world. The internet is filled with fake artifacts, so it's very important to obtain things from a reliable source. I've included a screenshot of my original invoice here, and I will be happy to provide a printed copy to the buyer upon request, to verify that this piece came from a trusted source. The winner will receive the exact item in the photos, so please refer to those for a closer look. Thank you for viewing this listing!
