Description: This program is a fascinating item of dance history. It documents the June 1971 tour by the legendary ballerina Alicia Alonso and the Ballet Nacional De Cuba the company she led of four cities in Canada-Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec. The politics of the times made it impossible for Alonso and her company to tour the United States. This program was acquired by a New Yorker who traveled to Canada to see them perform. In addition to Carmen and Giselle, the program includes notes and photos of Swan Lake-2nd act, Conjugation, Concerto No. 1, and Grand Pas De Quatre choreographed by Alonso among others. This item has been a part of my art and cultural archives since the late 1990s. I am pleased to offer it now to the ebay community. 12 pages, plus covers, 11 x 8-1/2 inches, stapled. French and English texts. Please note this item is sold with no return. Please contact me with any questions.
