Description: This lovely little elephant mother and baby was made by A. Santini of Italy. The company was created by renowned sculptor, Amilcare Santini (1910-1975). It is continued by his son and grandson. Figurines, often based upon Amilcare's original sculptures, are created in a mould using a combination of marble or alabaster dust and resin. They are then cleaned and refined by hand. This little Momma and Baby elephant is beautifully detailed and has Momma's trunk up for good luck. Height: 4" to top of trunk Length: 4 7/8" Width: 1 3/4" No chips or cracks. This is a vintage figuring and does have wear consistent with age and use. There is a discolored spot on the trunk and some dark freckles on Momma rump. (Last 2 photos) In the photos, there looks like mold on one of momma's ears, but there is no mold. It appears so due to the lighting and the variations in the resin. See photos for condition details.
