Description: 8” C1900 Chinese Japanese Phoenix Birds Red Carnelian GEMSTONE Sculpture including Stand Experience the exquisite craftsmanship of Chinese and Japanese artistry with this stunning 8” sculpture. This antique original piece features handcarved carnelian stone in a captivating phoenix bird in a tree. The sculpture stands 8” approx. tall on an original elegant stand and dates back to the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) in China. The intricately hand carved designed sculpture is of two Phoenix birds in a tree… a true representation of the art and culture of the region of origin - China and Japan. Phoenix long tailed birds are very often featured in Chinese and Japanese art. The red carnelian gemstone adds to its beauty, the light able to shine through slightly thinner opaque endings to the leaves, beaks and tails making it a perfect addition to any collection. This unique piece is a testament to the rich history and artistic legacy of the Qing dynasty. Lovely item to add to your collection, or to give as a gift if you can bear to part with it!! MEASUREMENTS: 8 1/4” overall Sculpture itself is approx 7” in height x 7” in width. Oval stand: 5 1/2” long x 2 1/2” at widest point x 1 3/8” tall. CONDITION: It is perfect with no restoration. There are no chips or other damage. The original stand also is without damage. I have taken some of the photos with a flash so they appear a much brighter colour than the others taken in natural light. If you need further information please do not hesitate to message me…..
