With a beautiful golden color, it is attractive enough for finished wire wrapping pieces, yet inexpensive enough for practice work. About Jeweler's BronzeTechnically Jeweler's Bronze is a bronze alloy made from approximately 85% copper and 15% zinc. It contains no lead or nickel.Jeweler's Bronze is easier to work with than brass. Brass is much stiffer, and harder to bend. Jeweler's Bronze does not tarnish but does oxidize very slowly to form an antique patina over time. In its highly polished state, Jeweler's Bronze resembles 14K gold in color and shine. Jeweler's Bronze also goes by the name Red Brass, and Low Brass. It also goes by the brand names NU Gold, and Merlin's Gold.
