Description: For your consideration is a wonderful and mysterious b&w surrealist photograph of a unidentified woman surround by random elements. This is double-sided… basically 2 separate photos joined at the backs with some sort of adhesive or dry mount. I believe this piece dates to the 1940’s and was taken by an unknown NYC photographer. This artist was obviously quite talented. Clearly inspired by the work of Man Ray and Herbert Bayer using various forms of negative manipulation in the darkroom. A friend of mine acquired a portfolio of these images while cleaning out a storage unit in Brooklyn, NY. I purchased the whole lot of photos and will continue to list them if there seems to be interest. The photo in good condition and was properly stored for many years. It will look great once framed! It measures 11 5/8” by about 9 3/4” wide. The photo is printed on a sort of “pearl” finished paper.. not matte, not glossy. There are no signatures dates or other identifying marks. Please examine all of the images for a good visual description. Feel free to email with any questions. Thanks for looking.
