Description: Mahomes is the son of former MLB player Pat Mahomes. Patrick played college football at Texas Tech from 2014-2016. He would pass for 11,252 yards with 93 touchdowns and 29 interceptions over his three seasons in Lubbock. He set two NCAA records while at Texas Tech. Single game total offense in 2016 with 819 total yards and total passing yards in 2016 with 734 yards which is tied with Washington State’s Conner Halliday, who set the record in 2014. Mahomes would win the 2016 Sammy Baugh Trophy for being the nation’s top college passer, becoming the 4th Red Raider to win the award. He would be selected with the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He would be the backup to Alex Smith until the regular season finale, when they chose to rest Smith in preparation for the playoffs.
