2000 P Sacagawea One Dollar Coin US Liberty Gold Color Phil. (Oregon Trail)

Description: You can't make this up...we found this coin as we were crossing Hurricane Creek at the foot of Sacajawea Peak in Oregon. Not on the Oregon Trail, but close enough! As an armchair fisherman, at first I thought it was a fishing lure. And yes, I took the bait...hook, line & sinker. But much to my astonishment, it was this gold coin. We surmised that most likely someone tossed it in the creek and made a wish...a sort of serene, babbling, chilly, and flowing "wishing well", if you will. My wife said, "Let's make a wish and throw it back, maybe it'll come true!" Since I haven't been able to find work since Covid hit, I couldn't help but wonder if this oddly beautiful gold coin might be of some value. "Maybe I should research it when we get home." I suggested. Well, as evidenced by the plethora of Ebay listings, these coins most certainly are of modest value. Not enough to make one rich, but enough to make a notable difference to a middle-aged couple surviving solely on a school teacher's income. I told my wife "Someone buying this would definitely be a wish come true for us." So here we are, fingers crossed and hands folded in prayer. (Makes us sound double-jointed....I know, right?) And that's the story of finding a Sacajawea coin beneath Sacajawea Peak by a Bend, Oregon middle-aged fat guy and his incredibly patient and gracious wife...
