Description: 19C Antique Aller Vale Motto Ware Torquay Pottery Bowl Rooster Design. Excellent condition for its age. Glaze has rubbed off in spots around outer edge, crazing is present across piece. Some pitting and other imperfections from original manufacturing. Stamped ‘Aller Vale Devon England’ and incised with 976N2 on bottom. Text around rim reads “Some have meat that canna eat! A some wad eat that want it But we have meat an we can eat! Same let the Lord be thankit”. Inside bowl reads “There’s mair i’ the kitchen”. Measures approximately 5 3/4” diameter and stands 2” tall.
