Description: 1979 Press Photo Actor Robin Williams & the parrot Cora star in "Mork & Mindy." This is an original press photo. Robin Williams. "Shazbat!" - Cora takes lessons from the man from the planet Ork. Robin Williams and his parrot, Cora, are birds of a feather when it comes to far-out language. Williams stars as "spacey-talking" Mork, from the planet Ork, in the ABC (American Broadcasting Company) Television Network's new comedy series, "Mork & Mindy," which airs Thursdays (8:00-8:30 p.m., EDT). Whether eliciting unprecedented standing ovations from studio audiences for his series portrayal or packing them in at Los Angeles clubs with his brilliant stand-up comedy, Robin is a singular performer - so far. Any month, though, he might get a beak-full of competitions from his own pet, a double yellow head parrot from Mexico. Only nine months old, she's still a baby by Psittaciformes standards. Her vocabulary is limited to "hello," "I'm a bird" and (censored). "That's only the beginning," said Robin, who mimes a realm of fanciful voices in as many accents. "Now I'm teaching her to talk by playing tapes I've made." So it's only a matter of time until Cora begins to parrot her owner's Orkan lingo, perhaps greeting him with "na-no, na-no" instead of hello, exclaiming "Shazbat" instead of wow, or driving him "crathanza" because of her screeching at his other pet, an iguana named Mr. E. "Cora finks on him in the mornings when he goes to the window to hang out in the sun. She squawks until she's let out of her cage, at which time Mr. E. retreats under the refrigerator. That's where he is now. I couldn't get him out to pose with Cora," noted Robin, who has a great affinity for birds, beasts and children. "Otherwise," he said, "It's a peaceful co-existence because they are both vegetarians." One day, if Cora's tape-learning sessions are a success, Williams hopes to unleash her talents by having her "guest" on "Mork & Mindy," which stars Pam Dawber as Mindy, Elizabeth Kerr as Cora Hudson and Conrad Janis as Frederick, and also stars Jeffrey Jacquet as young Eugene, Mork's "main munchin."Photo measures 9 x 7.25inches.
