"Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins along with Joe Tryson and Dick Whitman--aptly called the "Super Crew"--were hot news in the 1972 racing season. If there is any way to get around Bill and his conquering Vega,nobody has found it yet. All total he now has six NHRA career titles to his name. This year he walked off with a quarter of a million dollars in prize booty. The only person in drag racing ever to do so.
