This guitar is a perfect example of some of the different guitar designs being produced during the 1960s Cold War Era in West Germany. Taking subtle design cues and elements from companies such as Fender with the offset body and tremolo/vibrola that was popular at the time, the Framus Strato Super is no knock-off, but rather a guitar in its own class. Featuring a classic sunburst finish with its sleek retro sixties pick guard, this guitar is sure to catch some eyes and attention! The guitar is covered in finish checking, as well as showing signs of a long life of use with light scuffs, chips, and dings along the edges of the body. The guitar pickups have minor surface rust; the worst of it being on the neck pickup where most of the nickel finish has faded. The high E and D string tuning keys are missing the ferrule/gromet at the surface of the headstock, but each tuning key is still functional and holds tune in its current state. A new nut has been added to the guitar, as the original was cracked and no longer functioned. The neck shape is similar to a soft V profile. All electronics function properly. The tremolo/vibrato functions properly with a very smooth range of motion. This guitar plays great with low action and will make a great addition to someone’s collection!
