I found a newspaper entry from April 1956 that describes the event:Cancer Troupe To Stop at CR The "biggest check in the world" will arrive in Iowa Wednesday, April 11, when the American Cancer Society's "Flying Crusade"- makes its only Iowa stop at the Cedar Rapids Municipal Airport. The 24-foot-square check, which is printed on parachute silk and is drawn on "Our Mutual Life Savings Bank," reads: "Pay to the order of the United States 80,000 - lives." Among those on board the plane will be Colombia Record stars, Guy Mitchell, Tony Bennett, Mitch Miller, Percy Faith, and LuAnn Simms.There is also a blonde girl not listed which I believe is Patti Page.
