This listing is for a 1952 HOWDY DOODY ventriloquist doll made by Ideal Toys. This is the earliest version of Howdy Doody that Ideal made. The head is sculpted with an amazing likeness to the real Howdy Doody puppet, featuring glass sleep eyes and lifelike lashes. The mouth opens and closes using a pull-string located behind the neck. Howdy Doody is approximately 20" tall and made with a hard plastic head and stuffed cloth body. Very good condition overall with some paint rubs, mostly to the hair. Mouth still works great!
