Description: 1940 Kennel Club of Northern New Jersey - Best of Breed Award - Bloodhounds. The arched top award measures about 10 inches high and 7.75 inches wide. In very good condition. Back of award has abrasions and holes from multiple rehanging over the past 80+ years. The award depicts a hand clasped laurel leaf wreath depicting the year 1940 against a maroon & orange velvet background followed by three banners: "BEST BREED OF"; "KENNEL CLUB OF NORTHERN NEW JERSEY"; and "BLOODHOUNDS". The AKC Archives for the 1940 Kennel Club of Northern New Jersey Dog Show, reports that at the Judge, Mr. Louis J. Murr, awarded the best of breed first prize to Giralda Farms, Ch.
