Description: Description: This is a rare early-edition set of this 5 volume classic translation of the mystical books of the Zohar. The first volume was printed in 1933 and the rest were printed in 1956 as indicated on over-title. It is clean and without any writing anywhere in the interior. All title pages are present and in excellent condition. There is some tanning to end pages as to be expected. The binding to each book is excellent and the covers are rarely seen this nice. This is the complete and earliest Mystical or Kabbalistic text tradition in Judaism, with all other Kabbalah (Cabbalah) books based on it. Tradition dates this seminal Kabbalistic book to the 2nd century Tannaitic sage Rabbi Simon (Shimon) Bar Yochai the disciple of Rabbi Yohanan Ben Zakai. Extremely interesting and legendary text, with all sorts of fantastic stories and Biblical embellishments included. Pages are clean and nice. Great set to enjoy and study from. Translated by Maurice Simon and Harry Sperling, Introduction by Dr. J. Abelson. Neat set. Covers are excellent and binding too.
