Description: This Senechal card #17 from the 1927/1928 Amatller Automovilismo set has considerable wear but no creases. There is a stamp on the back of the card. Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the card. This issue of the Amatller Automovilismo set consists of 23 cards featuring prominent drivers in Europe and the Catalonia region. Amatller is a chocolate company based in Barcelona, Spain, since 1797 and continues to operate today. They would include these cards with the purchase of their chocolate. The front of the card features the driver/riding mechanic while the back of the card has driver information written in Spanish. Robert Senechal was born in France in 1892. After serving during World War 1, Senechal began a competitive career in 1921. He excelled at endurance racing, winning the Bol d'Or three consecutive times (1924-1926). He is perhaps best known as the winner of the first British Grand Prix in 1926 at Brooklands with relief help from Louis Wagner.
