1920 Utica Club, Prohibition Era Sparling Water Bottle, Full Description Below

Description: THE PRODUCT: By matching this bottles to photos of Utica Club bottles online, I believe it to be a sparkling water bottle. Utica Club was the brand name of sodas, flavored waters, sparkling water and non-alcoholic beers sold by the F. X. Matt Brewing Company in Utica, N. Y. during prohibition (1920-1933) to stay afloat. As soon as prohibition ended, Utica Club became the name of their flagship beer line. Utica Club beer was very popular in the 1950s and is still sold today. THE BOTTLE: Embossed on the shoulder of the bottle: Utica Club (in cursive) on one side, UTICA, N. Y. (all caps) on the other. No manufacturers logos or mark but I believe the bottle was manufactured by the Owens Bottle Company after they purchased the American Bottle Company in 1916 and is from the 16N series of bottles as on the heel of the bottle (on the UTICA, N. Y. side) there is the number/ letter combo, 20N ('20' date code for 1920, 'N' for the Newark, Ohio plant) and a 1 (most likely a mold number). Aqua blue, 12 fluid ounces, about 9 3/4 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches in diameter at the base.The bottle is machine made, with an interesting curve towards the base where the mold pieces fit together. CONDITION: A very small lip chip, a couple of small marks or abrasions, a hazed area on the interior (photo with sky in background), overall a nice bottle with a few minor imperfections. NOTE, I took several photos of the heel marks to capture the '20N' and the '1' as it is significant in identifying the glass manufacturer and the date.
