Description: 1909-1911 T206, Old Mill - Heinie Berger, Cleveland Naps - SGC 3 On the Player - Charles “Heinie” Berger (1882–1954) was an MLB right-handed pitcher who played for the Cleveland Naps from 1907 to 1910. Over the course of his four-season career, Berger made 68 starts, finishing with a 32–29 win-loss record and a 2.60 ERA, earning a career WAR of 5.9. In 1909, he led all American League pitchers with an average of 5.90 strikeouts per nine innings. Despite his talent and a powerful fastball, Berger's career was cut short due to arm troubles, a common issue for pitchers of his time. He retired from professional baseball after the 1910 season.
