I am offering over 100 John Philip Sousa Records and records by Sousa's Band from 1903 to 1930.Click on this link to see more Sousa Records Italian march played by the Sousa Band,One year earlier, French composer Charles Borel-Clerc published (1879-1959) is said to have composed La Sorella "from melodies developed by Ramón Estellés from the notes of a score by Carlos Gomes, with the melody of the pasodoble 'La Giralda' by Eduardo López Juarranz that he heard when he was in Spain in 1905*"So, it seems clear that La Sorella (which means The Sister) and "La Mattchiche" or "La Maxixe" are the same tune, only with composition claims by different people. Who is the real composer? Clerc? Gallini? Lopez Juarranz in Spain? Let's go back even further. The earliest mention of the tune that I could find, is from the zarzuela (Spanish operetta) “Los Inocentes,” from 1895, with music by Ramón Estellés Adrián. Here, the song is referred to as "Machicha de Los Inocentes." A "machicha," "maxixe," or "mattchiche," it turns out, is actually a type of dance, like say, for example, tango or samba. And it happens to come from, of all places, Brazil!!FIRST PUBLISHED TAKE 4La sorella Marcha La mattchiche Louis Gallini (composer) Sousa's Band (Musical group) "Also known as 'La Mattchiche', 'Amour Voisin', 'Espagnole Estelle' and 'Le Polo'"4/9/1906 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania [unconfirmed] 2 Master Victor 4744 10-in. If for any reason your transaction was NOT SATISFACTORY, pls contact me and I will work something out with you. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A REASON TO GIVE ME A NEGATIVE RATING or a LOW STAR RATING. Quick note on grading: The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise."EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing."VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing."Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise. These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment. Multiple item shipping: I am happy to combine items for shipment in one parcel. Records will be packed safely between corrugated cardboard in a sturdy box with plenty of padding for safe shipment. Shipment is usually Media Mail, unless you request another service.
